Ellie J Photography respects your personal information and will only ask you for what information is needed in order to carry out our service to you.  We will look after your personal information in the same way we would want ours looking after.  It will be kept secure and we will only share it with others where we need their help to deliver our service to you (such as our professional printing laboratory who will need your name and address to post your purchases).

Please be assured that we will never share your information in any other circumstances.

Introduction

Ellie J Photography takes your privacy very seriously. This privacy policy has been prepared in line with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which promotes fairness and transparency for all individuals in respect of their personal data. This privacy policy applies to all data we process, and by using Ellie J Photography you consent to our collection and use of such data.

The Data we Collect

We will collect the following data in order to deliver our services to you, and we will manage this data transparently, fairly and securely. 

  • First and Last Names
  • Address
  • Postcode
  • Telephone Number(s)
  • Email address

We will also record a date of birth for all persons we photograph under the age of 18 and require the parent or a legal guardian to consent to photography. As a photography business, we do of course also create and manage images as per our agreement(s).

What is this data used for?

The personal data we collect is used to deliver our service to you and to communicate with you regarding the service for which you have paid.  Very occasionally, and provided you have given your consent, we may also notify you of special offers/services we believe you may be interested in.  

You have the right to be forgotten, and can opt out of this at any time by notifying us in writing or via email.

Cookies

Our website provider, Zenfolio, uses cookies. A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer while the user is browsing. The aim of a cookie is to better the user's experience while they are visiting a particular website. If you don’t want to receive cookies, you can modify your browser so that it notifies you when cookies are sent to it or you can refuse cookies altogether. Ellie J Photography uses Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use via cookies, which are stored on the users' computers. The information gathered is used to create reports about the use of our website. Which third parties do we share Personal Data with?

To enable us to fulfil your order, we may need to share some of your personal data with the following third parties:

  • our Professional Print Lab (to fulfil any print orders)
  • our Website Hosting Company (to enable you to view your purchasing gallery)
  • our Accountant (to manage your payments)
  • our Mobile Gallery and Slideshow providers (to send you your gallery and slideshow if applicable)

There are also certain situations in which we may share access to your personal data without your explicit consent; for example, if required by law, to protect the life of an individual, or to comply with any valid legal process, government request, rule or regulation.

How do we keep your personal data secure?

Ellie J Photography will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. Your data is stored in a secure location in my home.  My computer, phone and IPad, all of which I may use to communicate with clients, are password protected.

As data transmission over the internet can be insecure, we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.

How long do we hold your information for?

Ellie J Photography will hold your personal data for up to 7 years after our contract with you has finished for Tax legislation purposes.  After this, we will archive your purchased photographs indefinitely along with your relevant details and consent forms. This is due to potential requests for replacement images being made several years after the original is taken.

Changes to our privacy policy

We may change this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will let you know by changing the date on this policy, notifying customers of only significant changes. By continuing to access or use our services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised privacy policy.
