In a blur of nappies, feeds and sleepless nights, those early months pass in the blink of an eye - and suddenly your baby is sitting, crawling, standing and showing their own little personality more with each passing day. For nearly two decades, Ellie J Photography has been creating relaxed, natural and fun baby photography sessions for families across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond, from my cosy studio in Fillongley. This page is dedicated to celebrating those precious first milestones - the first smiles, first giggles, and that magical moment of sitting independently.

I’ve been doing this for over 19 years, I’m professionally qualified, safety trained and fully insured, and I run my sessions from a fully equipped, baby-friendly studio in the beautiful Warwickshire village of Fillongley.

Your older baby session is relaxed, playful and completely tailored to your little one. We’ll capture a beautiful variety of images, including:

• Natural portraits of your baby on their own

• A selection of set-ups using my studio props and accessories

• Sweet seated portraits on chairs, stools and soft furnishings

• Family photos and sibling portraits

• And yes — your dog is very welcome too!

The session fee for my Older Baby Photography is £60. This secures your session date and you'll pay nothing more until you've seen your finished images and chosen your favourites.

The answers to your questions

What is the best age for an older baby session?

The ideal time for an older baby session is when your baby can sit confidently, as this allows for the widest variety of beautiful, expressive portraits. However, these sessions are also suitable from around 12 weeks, making them perfect for families who may have missed a newborn session but would still love professional photos of their baby during those early months.

What should my baby wear for the session?

Simple, neutral outfits photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby. I’m always happy to help you choose what will work best, and I also have a selection of wraps I'll use and lovely props such as baskets and tubs.

Can parents and siblings be included?

Absolutely. I love capturing family connections, and parent and sibling photos are always welcome as part of your session. You can even bring your dog!

How long does the session last?

I’ve never put a strict time limit on my sessions when working with babies and children, because I understand that sometimes they need a little extra time to settle.

Most older baby sessions usually take around 60–90 minutes, but the focus is always on keeping things relaxed and comfortable for your baby, rather than watching the clock.

How far in advance should I book?

I recommend booking a few weeks in advance where possible, especially for weekend appointments, but feel free to get in touch and I’ll always do my best to fit you in.
