I inherited my love of photography from my dad, who did ‘proper’ photography many years ago, judging exposures by the sunny f16 rule and developing his own wonderful black and white prints. From early childhood I could frequently be found, camera in hand, stalking my family, friends or pets like a juvenile paparazzo.
 I grew up, met the man of my dreams and settled down to family life producing three gorgeous kids along the way. We did the usual new parent thing - looking around for a photographer to capture some precious memories of our little angels, and it was at this point I realised I could do as good a job, if not better, myself.
I invested in some professional equipment, polished up my photography skills and undertook the MPA (Master Photographers’ Association) recommended Professional Wedding and Portraiture course at the Davenport School of Photography. I soon became the ‘official’ family photographer, later getting calls from friends of the family, who in turn recommended me to others. So it continued until, with the support of my family, Ellie J Photography came into being.
My style of photography is relaxed, unhurried and gently directed. My philosophy is simple; relaxed, happy children make relaxed, wonderful photographs.
In addition to child and family portraits, I am available for pet portraiture, small weddings and other celebrations such as Christenings, parties and proms. Please contact me with your requirements.
